Haru has never rescued a baby forest spirit, flown through a storm with a wizard, nor made friends with an antlered half-giant before. As long as he can remember, he’s been stuck as a ghost bound to the bumbling zombie of his body trapped in a cabin basement.
His world changes when the wizard-thief Esther “Essie” bat Rivka crashes through his door and brings down the daunting attention of a dragon the size of a house and its law-enforcement rider. Faced with a choice between knight and criminal, Haru is quick to choose sides for the chance at freedom.

With his zombie body stuffed into a magical hat and an angry dragon on their trail, the pair escape on a flying mop. Haru doesn’t know what the future might have in store for him. All he knows is that anything is better than eternal boredom. Even being an accomplice to a thief.
